A new year started with a new page. This is just a page dedicated to anyone who is thinking about doing TY and wants to know what the major events in it are:)
Lets start with the main event in TY with starts of 2012 which is the Young Scientists Exhibition. All of TY entered the competition and a few groups were chosen. All of TY is going to see the exhibition on Friday with all second years.
Our next event is a drama competition in Mullingar. Our play is called,"Whats so Funny".Our play is about two teenage girls with major issues. We all have put a lot of effort into our play and we hope we do well on stage!
The latest event in TY was our second work experience. I went to my old primary school and it was amazing! Make sure you read my blog post about it!
On Monday the fifth of March we had a percussion workshop. We learned all about different types of drums and a particular one called a Jimbay.
Yesterday all of class Banba hosted a sports day for the first years. It included events like the long jump, high jump, sprints, relay, javelin, discus, 600m run and many more! The weather was beautiful and it was a fantastic day. The first years were competing for what class was the sportiest. Class pearl won so congratulations to all in class pearl!
On Friday the 27th of April the majority of TY went to Kippure Estate in Wicklow to go on our Gaisce hike. This was the most challenging thing that I faced in TY. We walked 25km in two days and also did the high ropes activity!
On Tuesday the 8th of May all of TY competed in Scifest. A lot of work went into our projects and we all really enjoyed our day. Many groups from St.Wolstans got prizes so we were all delighted for them!
